An illustrated moodboard for The Far Shore. Official cover to come.

What price would you pay for an authentic life, in the shadow of Jim Crow and Chinese Exclusion? Would you still heed the tug of the red thread of fate?

THE FAR SHORE

(Coming September 2027).

Savannah, 1909. Beneath the elegance of the city’s oak-shaded squares, Jim Crow and Chinese Exclusion loom. Oyster wars rage along the coast, Savannah still rides high on the nation's first Grand Prix, and a new century strains against old divisions.

Evangeline Mott is a grieving woman with a dangerous secret. In her quiet boardinghouse on East Gordon Street, she defies custom and expectation, opening her doors to society's outsiders, creating the very home she has always longed to inhabit herself. Among them are an Irish oysterman battered by waterfront conflict, a Black coal deliverer with dreams beyond his station, a mischievous child from the rag-and-bone-man's court, and Yan Li, a Chinese revolutionary in exile.

Gradually, rootless strangers become unlikely kin, but for Evangeline, this fragile fellowship becomes both refuge and reckoning. When forbidden love arrives, quietly, it is these bonds that give Evangeline the courage to reach for it. But to do so, she must risk her standing, her identity, and just maybe her very life.

Rooted in family history and unfurling at America’s racial borderlands, The Far Shore is a sweeping story of hidden identities, forbidden love, and the tender, fearless bonds that carry us home.
